Congratulations! It’s a Book!

It’s time for a CELEBRATION!  I have some really COOL, and MOST EXCELLENT news to share!

My very first children’s book, A Valentine for Miranda, has been released under the Alamofire Publishing imprint!   (Whoo hoo!!!  Claps!  Cheers!  Sighs of relief! Smiles!  Hugs!)  Yes, you heard me right.  I’ve given birth to an honest-to-goodness REAL book!

The book was illustrated by the very creative and talented Miss Nancy Li  (Just wait until you see the illustrations.  They are precious!)

The cover illustration was designed by the one and only R.M. Inks.

The book is currently available from both AMAZON.COM and CREATESPACE.COM (See links below).  It will also be available from the Alamofire Publishing website in about a week.  (I’ve even received my first reader “review” on Amazon and received 5 stars!  More Claps!  More Cheers!  More Smiles!)

It’s been a wild ride but well worth the journey!  I’ve had a life-long dream to be a writer and I cannot begin to express what it feels like to see a dream turn to reality, not only with this book but the Empowher.com magazine and TexPen as well.  I so appreciate my husband (love you, Cotton) and everyone else for encouraging me on this endeavor!  One of the absolute best parts of the journey was the look on my granddaughter’s face when she saw the proof copy of the book and realized what it was.  There are some things MasterCard can’t buy and the look was genuinely priceless!

We’re working on channels to market and there will be an official “press” release and other activities in September.  You lucky ducks are getting the pre-Press release now!!!  I’m also working on some possible fundraising concepts with some of the local schools to generate interest in not only this book but future Alamofire Publishing imprints as well.  If you know of schools (particularly the school library) in need of a fundraiser, then let’s talk and I’ll share more information with you.

I’d love any help in getting the word out and generating interest.  Please feel free to forward and share this info with anyone that you think might be interested.  The book is geared for elementary and is probably most appropriate for 2nd – 4th grade although younger (and older) children have enjoyed it as well.  It would also be of particular interest to children who have parents in the military.

The second book is already well into the rewrite so stay tuned for more to come!

Peace to all…..Mary
